This 3 week workshop provides an introduction to clay and the “Art of Letting Go”. This course is an empowering creative outlet for people wanting to practice a meditative mindset (not suitable for people wanting strict technical knowledge or using a pottery wheel). Learning to let go of outcomes by loosening attachment with meditative and sensory experiences releases us from conditional results being at one with the clay, whilst present in the moment.
Pieces made in Week 1 can be taken home unfired or refined in Week 2 and bisque fired, glazed & kiln fired again at the end of Week 3 for collection in August. These small fired pieces will hold the permanence of creation and can be an amulet for the creative soul to find peace and nurture oneself.
Lisa Byrnes is a warrior, nurse, mother & play-maker. She has a long history working with clay at Studio Artemis & more recently blended her meditation techniques with clay hand building to develop a wonderful & mindful practice of being in the moment to simplify the art & healing with clay creation.
